Promote your next Meetup on Craigslist

There's a simple new tool on your Meetup Group's 'Promote!' page that lets you post your Meetup to the free community website Craigslist.org.

Craigslist is a popular community website that contains classified listings for groups, events, products and services of all types. Listings are grouped by city and absolutely anyone can create and view listings for free. Posting your Meetups on Craigslist is a free and simple way to publicize your group and find new members. Craigslist covers more than 80 cities worldwide.

How to post on Craigslist:

1. Click 'Promote!' on the left side of your Meetup Group's homepage.


2. Click 'Post your Meetups to Craigslist.org'


3. Double-check the name and description of your Meetup to make sure they're accurate (and friendly), and make sure that the location and date of the Meetup is correct. Always include a photo of your Meetup Group — people feel much more comfortable if you let them see who they'll be meeting.


4. Click the red 'Continue' button and you'll see what your posting will look like on Craigslist.


5. If everything looks right, click the 'Continue to Craigslist' button. This will open a new browser window.

This new browser window is split: the Craigslist form is on the right; the left has all of the instructions you need to fill it out — just copy and paste!

Calling all Pug Owners

The Park Slope Pug Meetup Group gets together on the first Sunday of the month at 11 am. More than seventy pugs and their owners showed up last month to hang out and play. This month, we're meeting at the entrance to the dog run at 588 Bryant Street. The entrance is next to Wegman's Supermarket.

All small dogs and their owners are welcome, but especially pugs. We'll have treats for pets and their humans!
