Changing the name of your Meetup Group

Each Meetup Group is named automatically for the broad topic of interest and the city. That doesn't mean you have to stick with it! You can call your Group whatever you like—reflecting your specific interests or your neighborhood. Tell prospective members what you're really about.

To change the name of your Meetup Group:

1. From your Meetup Group's Our Home page, click 'Group Settings' on the left-hand side.


2. Click the 'Basic Info' link.


3. In the 'Group name' section, type in the new name and click 'SUBMIT'.

Remember, this name will appear in lists of Meetup.com search results when new members are looking for Meetup groups. Make sure it gets across what you're about and where you meet.
